Thekkady is famous for its wildlife. It is home to herds of tigers, Nilgiri langurs, lion-tailed macaques, Sambar deer and of course the majestic Asiatic Elephants. Thekkady is covered by dense evergreen forests and is home to a wide variety of birds and butterflies too.
